GLview Express Writer

Efficient visualization of your own CAE data

GLview Express Writer is a software tool for easy export of CAE models and results to VTFx formatted files, providing a very short route to advanced 3D visualization and post-processing of virtually any FEA and CFD data. The very compact and efficient VTFx file format is supported by all GLview products.

The GLview Express Writer enables developers of both commercial and in-house CAE codes to utilize the free 3D viewers GLview Express and GLview 3D Plugin. By using these 3D viewers, CAE data can easily be shared across different HW and SW platforms without the need of installing licensed software.

Geometry models, result selections, animation settings, and various output options (e.g. draw modes wire frame, points, surfaces) are exported to a VTFx file. Subsequently, these data can be visualized in GLview Express and GLview 3D PlugIn or post-processed in GLview Inova.

GLview Express Writer Deliverables

The GLview Express Writer is delivered as a fully documented object library and C++ header files for Windows, LINUX and most UNIX platforms. The object-oriented architecture is written in ANSI C++, providing high-level portability. The C++ header files come as obfuscated source code. Interface layers for access from FORTRAN and C are also available.

About the VTFx file format

The VTFx file format preserves all CAE model characteristics such as node and element numbering, element topology, and the original numerical results values. The VTFx file can be distributed to colleagues, sub suppliers, partners, and management for review with the GLview Express Viewers, or alternatively read by the post-processor GLview Inova for further interpretation and analysis.
