Migris AS

Simultaneous Simulation and Visualization of hydrocarbon migration at geologic timescales integrated with seismic data visualization developed using GLview 3D Visualization API.
Migris AS is an independent company founded in June 2005 and located in Trondheim, Norway. The company focuses on simulation of hydrocarbon migration for exploration risk analysis. Oil companies use Migris simulation tools to reduce their risks for drilling exploration wells and to explain dry wells and finds that have been made.

Migris AS started the collaboration with Ceetron in 2007 and has outsourced much of the GUI and 3D graphics development work to Ceetron.

Migri, The interactive 3D hydrocarbon migration simulator for exploration risk analysis at seismic scales

The use of migration modeling techniques in the risk analysis of exploration prospects can help describe and reduce geological and economic uncertainties before drilling exploration wells. Migri uses new risking techniques, combining Monte Carlo and migration modeling. The aim is to perform simulations at seismic resolution with complex geometry while retaining interactivity to allow for high turn-around of analysis results. The visualization solution is therefore integrated with the simulator in a Simultaneous Simulation and Visualization (SSV) scheme. This will enable exploration geologists to run many alternative scenarios in hours rather than weeks.
